BioTox Cluster is an organized innovative network of cluster members consisting of toxicological, ecotoxicological, preclinical and clinical laboratories from commercial sector along with university based laboratories. Each member of cluster is an independent, self-operating and long-term operative laboratory/test facility being excellent in various expertise.
BioTox Cluster launched its activity in May 2018 with a focus to support the clients from various types of industries (Chemical (REACH), Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Veterinary, Cosmetic, Biocide, Medical Device and Food Industry) to give them solutions with high added value from one stop on many questions from toxicological, ecotoxicological and physico - chemical safety assessment, clinical and preclinical testing and biological quality control. Furthermore, the activity of the cluster will be running through the fostering of specialization and complementary cooperation in order to expand and bridge partnership between organisations within the cluster.

The Slovak Medical University in Bratislava is an educational institution proudly keeping the tradition of education of healthcare workers in specialized studies and continuous life-long education in Slovakia. In 1995 this workplace obtained GLP certificate by Slovak National Accreditation Service.
Since 1995 it has authorization to use laboratory animals in toxicological and preclinical experiments and studies certified by State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic.

The Cluster PharmValley associates various Russian research and science institutions to conduct a complex portfolio of services incl. development, GLP preclinical, clinical and toxicity studies, preparation of registration dossier and registration, synthesis of pharmaceutical substances, development of finished dosage form and other services necessary for the creation of drugs and medical products.
The Centre of Experimental Medicine (CEM) of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) was established on 1 January 2018 by merging of the Institute of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology, the Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology and the Institute of Heart Research into one Centre. CEM is focused on the integrated research into the causes, mechanisms of development and possibilities of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of societally important diseases with the emphasis on diseases of the cardiovascular and the nervous systems, metabolic disorders, mental disorders and mental health problems as well as diseases originating in the prenatal and early postnatal developmental periods. The research in CEM is carried out on in silico, in vitro, ex vivoain vivo models with the aim to transfer the acquired knowledge to clinical practice.
Významnou súčasťou je hodnotenie účinkov bioaktívnych prírodných látok, ich derivátov a pôvodných syntetických látok s farmakoterapeutickým potenciálom, na animálnych modeloch ľudských ochorení a ľudských vzorkách, ako aj štúdium vedľajších nežiaducich a toxických účinkov chemických látok a žiarenia.
